Missionaries of the Month

THE AKUOKOH FAMILY

MISSIONARIES TO GHANA, WEST AFRICA

Hello Praying Friends,
Thank you for remembering us in your prayers. We hope that everyone is doing well. We trust that you are enjoying your service for the Lord as much as we are. What a privilege it is to serve God and to see His impact on the lives of those we pray for.
During the last month, we have continued to place an emphasis on soulwinning. We have been disciplining our converts on Sunday nights and Wednesday nights, as well as having them go soul winning with us to see the process. The last three weeks they have been able to go soul winning with us and we’ve been able to see people saved each weekend. Praise the Lord for the nine souls that have placed they’re faith in Christ. We have also been able to find a little pool that we can use for baptism, so I will be teaching on that subject soon. Please pray that they will understand the meaning of
baptism and that we will be able to have our first round of baptisms soon.
Our Sunday morning services have been steady this month in regards to attendance, and our evening services continue to grow. We are praying about what steps to take next as we have just about outgrown our current location. Please pray for wisdom in our decision making. The Mother’s Day service was a blessing this past
Sunday (14th). I preached from Proverbs 31 titled Identifying Virtuous Women. Several people told me after the service that the message encouraged them and even challenged them; it’s refreshing to hear how God is working on their lives. We had
fifty-four people in the morning service including nine mothers. All the glory goes to God for what He continues to do here.
We have a lot of young people in our church. The area that we are in presents some challenges and obstacles for the young people and their families. It would mean so much to us if you could pray for our young people. Despite the challenges they face, they are committed to attending services and are growing spiritually. Thank you for your love and your prayers.

With Utmost Sincerity,
Daniel, Raquel, and Ezekiel AKUOKOH

THE BANKSTON FAMILY MISSIONARIES TO NEW ZEALAND December 2022-February 2023
Christmas and Ministry
December was a very busy month for us filled with personal and ministry Christmas preparations. Personal preparations left the house filled with all kinds of mouth-watering smells, as Brittany baked away. As I tried to sneak a few cookies I would be greeted by a swat on the hand and a stern look. The cookies were not for my personal consumption. These cookies were for all our neighbors. This year we decided to load up a bunch of plates filled with cookies and a church invitation and give them to each of our neighbors. Our neighbors were so shocked by this act of kindness that one of them showed up a few hours later with a big Pork Roast for us to chuck in our freezer. We had so much fun and got to give out some gospel tracts at the same time. Please pray with us that our neighbors will come to church and accept Christ as their Lord and Saviour.
Trailer
Ever since moving into our house after the Judds arrived back in New Zealand, we have had one major need. We live about 15 minutes from town and there is no company that will service us to pick up our rubbish/trash. So we have
to either borrow or rent a trailer every week to take our rubbish to the local tip (dump). One of our supporting churches contacted us a few weeks before Christmas and asked if we had any needs. We explained that we are in need of a
trailer that we can use for personal use and we can also use for ministry. I explained that we were going to be asking in a prayer letter for help in raising funds for it, but the church wrote back and said they would buy it for us! GOD IS
SO GOOD! We continue to be amazed at how God provides for every need we have. Thank you for your continued prayers!

Natural Disasters
These last two months have been filled with a lot of natural disasters here in New Zealand. In the last five weeks we have had major flooding, a cyclone, and earthquakes. All of these combined have had major effects on the food here. Every grocery store has a lot of empty shelves. Egg prices have shot up to $11- $12 a dozen. Many times all the bread shelves are empty. Please pray for New Zealand as it tries to recover from hit after hit and please pray that we can be a blessing to as many people as we can in the city of Masterton.
Couple’s Banquet
In February we were able to have our couples banquet for Valentine’s Day. We invited two other churches to come and join our banquet. One church drove almost three hours to be with us. The pastor of that church, Pastor Nick Watt, was our guest speaker. We greatly enjoyed and were encouraged by the message he brought to all the couples. We were so thankful that we had a larger building that we rent, rather than trying to do the banquet at the school like we had done in years past. The only problem that we ran into was the man we were renting the
building from was hesitant to let us use the building on a Saturday. We normally rent from Sunday to Wednesday. On Saturdays, it is usually used by another church. We are thankful that the Lord allowed it to work out for us to host the banquet. We saw 10 couples attend the banquet. Praise the Lord that there are still couples that want to keep God first in their lives!
